I love the motivation for Rao! I really want this project to work. But in v 0.4.1 I get the following error when starting a conversation. This started immediate after a Windows installation.
could not find function “%||%”
The connection to the back-end failed and continued to fail on retries. Check your network connectivity, try the query again, or open a new conversation. If the error persists, please open a thread at https://community.lotas.ai/
I tried a number of fixes such as reinstalling rlang (from which the “%||%” function comes) and defining “%||%” manually without luck.
Thanks for letting us know about this - I had heard %||% was causing Windows users issues depending on their R version. I thought we cleared these out, but we missed one in the local backend system. I just fixed it, and we’ll push a new version by tomorrow evening (your Rao should detect and auto-update next time you open it).
Thanks for the quick response. I see the update propagated and made its way to my local installation. But sometime during the above discussion, I also updated my R installation to version 4.5.1, reinstalled Rao, and the error went away. (I was previously using R 4.4.2). So FWIW, I can’t tell if the fix above was truly needed to solve the problem or whether the simple upgrade to the latest and greatest R version did the trick. In any event, thanks for the great work. Rao is fantastic.
